I positioned this screen cap on the 7th because it conversed nicely with several of the angles found in previous shots this month. The rhythm of diagonals is pronounced and satisfying (and maybe a little too easy, when it comes to generating visual coherency, but there you have it): poles, welding, dramatic shadows and that good ol’ yellow Mojave dirt that sticks to everything. In New Mexico I’ve found the dust is red. After a windstorm, drifts of red sand can be rooted out on windowsills, around doors. In the Acton / Agua Dulce, Soledad Canyon area, where this  moment was shot, the dirt is like ground, weathered seat cushion foam. Yellow-gold and clingy. No pun on Mr. T’s gold intended. 😉
